Day 2

2. Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

1. Earwigs

I HATE earwigs. They almost make me cry when I see them. I believe this come from a time when I was probably 8 or 9. It was just after Christmas, and I had gotten a cute little jewelry box. I left the lid slightly ajar throughout the day, then I went back to my room to look for a necklace or something. When I opened the box, there was a huge earwig sitting in the middle of my jewelry box opening and closing its little pinser things.

2. Singing in front of people

I did choir for years. I always loved it, and I've always loved music. I sing to myself constantly, but I can't stand the idea of singing for someone. I get really quiet, so even if they are right next to me, they can barely hear me. I just can't stand the idea of someone thinking I'm not a good singer I guess.

3. Stairs

This is a very valid fear. I have a very long history of falling up the stairs. I have sprained and twisted my ankles on stairs more times than I can tell you. I'm just sure they are out to get me. Next time, I'm sure I'll break an ankle or something, and not be able to get to my apartment without Matt.

30 posts in 30 days

I always want to read something on other people's blogs, and I get annoyed when I feel like they don't post enough, but then I never post because I can never think of anything to write. So, I will do this. Every day, starting tomorrow, I will post about one of these things.

30. List 10 things you would hope to be remembered for.

Music

Sometimes I find it amazing how we associate music with other things.
This morning, I was playing some music while I was getting ready for the day. I felt a little bit sick, and wasn't in the best of moods, but the song "I Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher came on.

Years ago, my cousin, little sister, and I were all staying in the same bedroom at my Nana and Grampsy's house for a week or so in the summer. My cousin told me that was her favorite song, so we sang that a lot, and had a lot of fun that week.

That song made me think of Aubry, and from that, I began thinking of a lot of other fun experiences I had with her. I was immediately cheered up, and ended up singing along and dancing around. I am so grateful for my amazing family, and for the boost music can give us.

Michelle

I've been spoiled for most of my life. I have had an amazing dad that I adore, and I have had two wonderful mothers. As of last Friday, one of those mothers is no longer on this Earth, but I still have two wonderful mothers.
Kellie Michelle Jackman, 38 of Pocatello, went home to the Lord on Friday, March 16 2012.

She was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Judy Ilene Thurman and Jerry Breshears on April 16, 1973. Her Mom and Dad (Ronney Thurman) gave her hand in marriage to her soul mate, Casey Jackman, on July 4th, 1999. She is the proud parent of Jennifer Jackman (Paul Johnson) of Pocatello; Tiffany Thomas (Matt) of Provo, Utah; PFC Kody Davis currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan; Matt Jackman of Pocatello, Morgan Davis of  Pocatello and Veronica Jackman of Pocatello. She was also a VERY proud grandparent of Dylan, Caelyn and Curtis Johnson.

Michelle attended school in Blackfoot, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Las Vegas before graduating from Highland High School in 1991. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia University in 2005. She proudly served as an Ada County Sherriff’s Detention Deputy 2004-2005. She was a very active participant and Board Member of the POW*MIA Awareness Corp. in Pocatello. She loved playing softball, bowling, roller skating and visiting the ocean. She was truly happy when she was on a motorcycle.

She is riding free with brothers and sisters gone on before and will be missed greatly here by all who know and love her.

But more than any of these things, she was my step-mother. I remember the day that she first sat down with me and asked me to read to her. I remember the day she married my dad. I remember when we lived in the first house down by the hospital in Pocatello, and all the kids were home while she took care of something at work (My older sister was probably 11 or 12, so a few hours wasn't a big deal) my brother and I got some sunscreen in our eyes, and Jeni pulled us up the hill to the hospital in a wagon with towels over our heads to get her help.
I remember the times that she would explain to me what I did wrong in a situation so I could do better. I remember all the times she would drive either half or all the way from Kuna to Pocatello to pick my brother and I up for a weekend.. I remember listening to her country music, and the day that I found I actually liked it. I remember her taking me to the library on a special trip because I was the only one done with my books.
I remember how encouraging she was about everything I wanted to do. It didn't matter what it was, she believed I could do anything.
I remember how excited she was to drive all the way to Washington to go to my Open House. I remember how thrilled I was to see her there. I remember when she had her motorcycle accident, and how much it broke my heart to think of losing her then. I remember that she came home from the hospital around my birthday, and I still consider that the best birthday present I have ever received.
I will always remember Michelle, and I will always and forever love her.

After Michelle's accident, I got to go visit her at the hospital. She had just woken up from her coma, and holding hands was her primary form of interaction. This is one of my favorite pictures, and has been since it was taken.
At the wedding, we were discussing how Brittani always trips and falls. In this case, Michelle slipped out of her shoe.

Hot Pockets

I'm sure that most people reading this know about Pinterest. Well, I am trying to make Pinterest a more productive site to spend my time and to make some of the things you can find on Pinterest. One of our favorites is the homemade hot pockets. We've made these a couple times, and each times with different materials. We've done turkey and cheese and a pizza one so far. Next I'm going to make a barbeque chicken one. They take some time to make, but it makes enough for almost a full week's worth of lunches for the two of us as well as a few dinners. We really enjoy them. And I think they look super cute.

Honeymoon Part 1

For our wedding gift, my mom gave us 7 days at her Worldmark account. So, we decided instead of taking a full week at a later time we would split it up. Because of this, we spent President's day weekend in St. George
We were going to a restaurant for breakfast, and we ended up driving right past it and out of the main part of town, but we ended up finding this beautiful trail area on the side of the road, so we pulled off to look around and take pictures.
The best part of being here is that we were both comfortable and warm.
After breakfast and a nap, we went to Snow Canyon State Park. There were a lot of hiking trails, and Matt was so excited to go on some of them.
The trails were all really easy. I was wearing a cheap pair of flats from Walmart, and we made it through a couple of the "medium" difficulty trails.
Matt had a lot of fun posing on the petrified sand dunes.
I just couldn't believe how beautiful everything was.
One of the trails was called "Pioneer names" because you could really see where pioneers had carved their names when they went through.
Matt kept talking about all the succulents, so I took a picture of some.
Pretending to climb the canyon wall.
Entering "Jenny's Canyon"
We were going to stop by the St. George temple to do a session, but I wasn't feeling great, so we just gave ourselves a tour around the grounds and the visitors center.
I'm so lucky that I get to be with this man for eternity.

We had a lot of fun, and it was really a great way to spend our first long weekend together. We're also really excited that we still have more than half our honeymoon to go after we finish this semester.
