Day 8

8. What are 5 passions you have?

1. Service. I know that I am by far happiest when I am serving others. I am very passionate about doing everything I can for other people. I'm just working on accepting service from those around me.
2. My family. Both my new family with Matt and my wonderful in-laws, and my immediate family. I adore them, and would do anything for each and every one of them.
3. Cooking. My cooking is actually one of the few things I take pride in. I know that I'm a good cook, and I love sharing that with other people.
4. School. I love school. I love the feeling of doing well on a test, or turning in a project and knowing that I did my best.
5.Life. Life is such a gift, and I believe we are meant to live it to the fullest. We need to throw ourselves into everything we do, and do the best we can. There's no point in living halfheartedly.

Day 7

7. What is your dream job, and why?

I have always wanted to be a teacher. I hope that I can be a teacher who can actually make a difference in people's lives. I have discovered that it really doesn't matter what you teach, it matters who you are. I'm currently in school to be a FACS teacher. For those who don't know, that means I will basically be a home ec teacher. I was not in any way inspired by my high school teen living teacher. I was inspired by some of my elementary, middle, and high school teachers. None of them really taught subjects I decided to pursue. Some of them taught things that fascinated me while I was in their class, but I always lost interest within a year or two of leaving their classes. The teachers that really influenced me were the ones who actually cared about me. The teachers who believed in me. And that's what I want to be.

I want to be a teacher who listens to her students. I want to be a teacher who sees their potential. I want to encourage them to be the best that I can be. If they learn how to cook, balance a checkbook, design a room, or sew a pillow in the middle of all that, then great. All the better. But most of all, I want to teach students what they are worth.

Day 6

6. What is the hardest thing you have ever experienced?
I think the hardest experience is getting over bad things that have happened. Having things happen is difficult, but it would be so much easier to wallow in that than to start letting go of the pain and move on with your life. The hardest things to do is getting out of bed, and going to class or work after something bad happens. However, as hard as that is, it's also the very best thing for a person to do.

Day 5 (It's Friday, Friday, Gotta get down on Friday)

5. What are the 5 things that make you most happy right now?

1.  Matt. Whenever I'm having a bad day, he'll figure out how to make me feel better. Sometimes he just hugs me, sometimes he tickles and teases me until I'm laughing, and sometimes he takes me out to do something. He just takes such good care of me all the time.
2. Cleaning. Even though I don't always want to clean, whenever Matt and I have cleaned up a room in our apartment, I just feel so good about the apartment. and about my life.
3.When I genuinely feel like I've helped someone. At my job, I do a lot of things in a day. Lots of phone calls where I'm supposed to be helping, but I don't always feel like I am. When I get one where I do feel helpful, or I'm able to help someone with something else, I'm happy.
4. Reading. Just by absorbing the words on a page, I'm able to escape into a different world, and feel all of the emotions the person involved is feeling. I have always loved to read, and I've always been a little irritable when I get interrupted.
5.The Gospel. I love praying. I love being in Church, I love reading my scriptures. Of all of these things, the Gospel and my relationship with Christ give me the most lasting joy and peace.

Day 4

4. List 10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self, if you could.

Dear 16 year old Tiffany

1. You are beautiful. I know you don't feel like it, but you really are.
2. You have some amazing friends. Remember how lucky you are to have them, and make sure they remember
3. But they're also pretty lucky to have you. You're a good friend, and a lot of fun to be around. Don't let people take you for granted.
4. Boys can be jerks. They'll make you cry a lot...but it's all worth it in the end. You'll grow and be stronger for each experience that made you cry.
5. Spend more time with your family. I know it's more fun to go to a friend's house, but you have such an incredible family, and you will miss them so much when you don't live there any more. Believe it or not, you will spend entire weekends with just your family and be thankful for it.
6. High school isn't everything. In just a few years, no one will care if you were the lead in the musical or if you were in Gate City. Not even you.
7. Work a little harder in school. I know it isn't hard and doesn't ask much of you, but if you work harder now, you'll appreciate it so much later.
8. Take a lot of pictures. You'll want to remember a lot of these things.
9. Don't be afraid to do silly things. They're fun, and no one else will care soon.
10. You're going to be happy. Everything will always be okay. It just doesn't work out the way you assume it will. At any point while you're 16. Life is a surprise, love it.

Day 3

3. Describe your relationship with your parents.

My mom is one of my very best friends. She supports me in everything I do, and we talk a lot. If two days go by without us talking on the phone, then it feels like something is wrong. She has always been super supportive and loving. We have a lot in common, and agree on almost everything.

My dad is also incredible. I love talking to him and spending time with him. We also have the exact same sense of humor...which oddly many other people think is dumb. I still giggle when I think about all the times we teased my brother about "Saluke's gold butt" (If you don't understand this, go watch Aladdin and the King of Thieves right now). I also remember many tickle fights with all of my siblings and I against my dad.

I have amazing parents. You should all be jealous.

Day 2

2. Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.

1. Earwigs

I HATE earwigs. They almost make me cry when I see them. I believe this come from a time when I was probably 8 or 9. It was just after Christmas, and I had gotten a cute little jewelry box. I left the lid slightly ajar throughout the day, then I went back to my room to look for a necklace or something. When I opened the box, there was a huge earwig sitting in the middle of my jewelry box opening and closing its little pinser things.

2. Singing in front of people

I did choir for years. I always loved it, and I've always loved music. I sing to myself constantly, but I can't stand the idea of singing for someone. I get really quiet, so even if they are right next to me, they can barely hear me. I just can't stand the idea of someone thinking I'm not a good singer I guess.

3. Stairs

This is a very valid fear. I have a very long history of falling up the stairs. I have sprained and twisted my ankles on stairs more times than I can tell you. I'm just sure they are out to get me. Next time, I'm sure I'll break an ankle or something, and not be able to get to my apartment without Matt.

30 posts in 30 days

I always want to read something on other people's blogs, and I get annoyed when I feel like they don't post enough, but then I never post because I can never think of anything to write. So, I will do this. Every day, starting tomorrow, I will post about one of these things.

30. List 10 things you would hope to be remembered for.

Music

Sometimes I find it amazing how we associate music with other things.
This morning, I was playing some music while I was getting ready for the day. I felt a little bit sick, and wasn't in the best of moods, but the song "I Got You Babe" by Sonny and Cher came on.

Years ago, my cousin, little sister, and I were all staying in the same bedroom at my Nana and Grampsy's house for a week or so in the summer. My cousin told me that was her favorite song, so we sang that a lot, and had a lot of fun that week.

That song made me think of Aubry, and from that, I began thinking of a lot of other fun experiences I had with her. I was immediately cheered up, and ended up singing along and dancing around. I am so grateful for my amazing family, and for the boost music can give us.
